Anxova Tapas Route 2026
“A Piece of Empúries”
The representation of the three cultures that have shaped this place on the Costa Brava, the Greeks, the Romans and the Mediterranean that we know today.
The process step by step.
We started with the xeixa bread as the base (recovered old flour), we continued with a layer of herb butter from our own garden, representing the Mediterranean that we know today. We continued with a crispy point, the toasted almonds, as a nod to Greece, and in honor of Rome, we added some candied figs with mulsum (Roman wine sweetened with honey). We finished with a salty touch that will break the sweetness of the figs, and represents the sea, the anchovy. Finally, a few drops of oxygarum to give a touch of saltiness and acidity, and we decorated with a touch of sea mint.
A combination that gives us different textures and flavors: crispy, creamy, sweet, salty and acidic.
Our involvement in the cover.
At Hostal Empúries, we work with local suppliers and seasonal products to be respectful of the environment and preserve the heritage to which we belong.
This tapa is not only a bite of gastronomy, but also a journey through the history of the place and the values it represents.
